Instructions to Use Our Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat Spray Paint
Painting Conditions: Apply the product outdoors or in a well-ventilated area like an open garage. Ensure the temperature is between 50-90ºF (10-32ºC) and humidity is below 85% for optimal drying. Priming is not necessary. Avoid using it on metal directly exposed to open flames or in contact with food, such as a grill grate. If using sprays, avoid application in very windy or dusty conditions and cover the surrounding area to protect from spray mist.
Surface Preparations: Remove all dirt, grease, oil, salt, and chemical contaminants by washing the surface with a commercial detergent or another suitable cleaning method. Rinse with fresh water and let the surface dry completely. Use a wire brush or sandpaper to remove loose paint and rust. Ensure that previously coated surfaces are sound and in good condition. For smooth, hard, or glossy finishes, sand the surface to create a profile.
Applications: For sprays, shake the can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. If the mixing ball doesn’t rattle, do not strike the can; instead, contact Rust-Oleum. Shake the can frequently during use. Hold the can upright, 10-16 inches from the surface, and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Maintain a consistent distance from the surface and keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply two or more light coats, allowing a few minutes between each, to avoid drips and runs. Do not use near an open flame.
