Instructions to Use Specialty Ultra High Heat Spray
Surface Preparation: To prepare the surface, first remove all dirt, grease, oil, salt, and chemical contaminants by washing with a commercial detergent or another suitable cleaning method. Rinse with fresh water and allow the surface to dry completely. Remove any loose paint and rust using a wire brush or sandpaper. Ensure that previously coated surfaces are sound and in good condition. For smooth, hard, or glossy finishes, sand the surface to create a profile. Note that removing old paint through sanding, scraping, or other methods may generate dust or fumes that could contain lead.
Application: Use the product outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, such as an open garage. Apply when the temperature is between 50ºF (10ºC) and 90ºF (32ºC) with humidity below 85% to ensure proper drying. Priming is not recommended. Avoid using on metal directly exposed to open flames or in direct contact with food, such as a grill grate. Refrain from applying in very windy or dusty conditions, and cover the surrounding area to protect from spray mist.
Dry & Re-Coat Times: Dry and recoat times are based on a temperature of 70ºF and 50% relative humidity, with longer drying times required in cooler conditions. The paint dries to the touch in 30 minutes and can be handled in 1-2 hours. Allow the paint to dry for at least 1 hour before applying heat. During the first heating, the product may emit smoke and a harmless odor. You can recoat at any time. For use at temperatures above 500ºF, heat curing is necessary. To enhance performance and durability, heat cure the paint at 450ºF for one hour.
