Things you’ll need
- Metal filing cabinet.
- Marble effect sticky back plastic.
- Rust-Oleum Surface Primer.
- Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint.
- Rust-Oleum Specialty Metallic Spray Paint.
- Rust-Oleum American Accents Crackle Creations Spray Kit.
- Foam roller and paint tray.
- Dust sheet or newspapers.
- Screw driver.
Disassemble
If you can, begin by removing the drawers where probability. Then remove the handles; in this case the handles popped out, though some may should be unscrewed.
Clean
Wipe all the surfaces down with a damp cloth to make sure the cabinet is free from dirt and grease.
Paint
Open your can of Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint and give it a worthy stir. At that point, pour a minor amount into a paint tray, load up the foam roller and start to paint the outside frame of the filing cabinet.
When the first coat is dry, apply an extra second coat to accomplish an even finish.
Drawer Finish
If your drawers can’t be detached, take your Rust-Oleum American Accents Crackle Creations Spray Kit and spray it up against the drawer the amount you’ll require. Give yourself around a bit of extra on all four sides.
If you’re ready to remove the drawer, roll out spray onto a hard, flat surface and place the first drawer face down onto it, positioning it in between the grid guidelines. Spray it round all four sides, again giving an inch from the edge of the drawer, this will form the cutting guideline.
Edges
Once the drawer front is protected, turn your attention towards the edges. Sensibly spray it over, making perfect spray at the corners. Repeat this procedure for the two remaining drawers.
Finishing Touches
Place the handles onto a dust sheet or newspaper and apply a coat of Rust-Oleum Surface Primer to fix the surface. When this has dried, apply two coats of Rust-Oleum Specialty Metallic Spray Paint and leave to dry in the middle of coats.
Attach Handles
Now the last thing you need to do is re-attach the handles to every drawer and place the drawers again into the frame.
Final Touch
Fill to the brim with stationery goodies or magazines and style as needs be. Who said that office furniture couldn’t be attractive?
